Toronto native Matthew Reid is a critically acclaimed, award winning composer for film,
television, games and theatre. His funny songs have delighted almost a million people during
his ten year stint as composer for Toronto’s world famous Second City comedy theater. His
comedic musical, The Second City Guide to the Symphony, since 2014, has been performed
by top orchestras across North America.
As a film composer, he recently won great acclaim as a composer collaborating with Tim
Burton’s producer, Derek Frey on the multiple award-winning film, Green Lake.
Recently, he scored the Canadian Screen Award nominated 9/11 feature doc, No Responders Left Behind starring Jon Stewart
and received a CSA nomination for writing a classical musical revue with Colin Mochrie, opera great Russel Braun and members
of the Toronto Symphony. - Mass Hysterical: a Comedic Cantata.
His work for dance, Ashe, was performed by Pulga Muchochoma and filmed by Red Violin
producer, Barbara Willis Sweete.
