I have lately been listening to some church choir music from Georgia and Armenia and have been increasingly interested in vocal music from different parts of the world. This interest pushed me to write a short piece for male choir and basses. I find this combination so interesting, with its deep sounds, all swirling around each other creating a feeling of muddiness. I saw my wife Alev, who is a psychologist, reading about the philosophical term of kairos(time) and she gave me the idea to write a piece with this concept. With this composition my attempt was to once again send the listener to a totally different sonic environment. It gives me great pleasure to mix styles and influences, even if those may seem rather conflicting artistically and idiomatically.
