Interviewing Jake Schneider

by Themusicase Team

Hello Jake! Can you tell us under which name you are doing business?

JAS Music

Can you share your link at Themusicase music library?

Tell us something about your music background!

My musical background stemmed from when I first picked up the guitar at 9 years old and from then on I played it religiously whilst learning other instruments like bass, piano and drums. Then when I was 18 I started to use audio production software and for the next few years learnt to create my own records! Now I am 24 and have been producing my own stock music for the last year and it’s a dream come to true to sell my original music around the world!

What drives your work, what are your passions?

Music itself, and also when I finish an amazing track. When I think I’ve created a great track, I always try to create the next song with the aim of making it better than the last one.

What is your creation process like? Tell us about your working method as a composer.

It’s different every time. Sometimes I sit in front of my studio with a ‘blank canvas’ and try out new ideas and play something until I think it sounds good enough to work with, and then sometimes I might think of a melody or song in my head while eating breakfast! The main thing is to not wait for inspiration. You need to be proactive with writing and say you will write a new song everyday no matter what. Inspiration will hit you when you least expect it, but most of the time you need to go out searching for it yourself.

Are there any non-musical influences that inspire your composition process?

No, music itself is an influence for me alone.

What advice would you give to a young composer?

Quite simply I would say just pick up a guitar, keyboard or any instrument and just start playing and write anything that comes to mind – that’s what I did. We all have to start our journey from somewhere and you will find the more you compose and play your instrument, the better you will get as time goes on!

How can people find out more about you?

If anyone has any questions regarding stock music, composition or anything music-related then you can email me directly to jasmusicuk@gmail.com and I will do my best to respond as soon as I can!
